The monochord is an overtone plucked string musical instrument. It is used in sound meditative practices, sound healing, sound massage, and music making.<\/p>\n
The first monochord was created by Pythagoras as a mathematical tool for learning about the harmony of the world. It was once just a wooden box with a single string. Who would have thought that this simple design would become the progenitor of all keyboard instruments of civilization?<\/p>\n
But look at it now. Same principles, same philosophy – and yet, it’s already a whole sonic universe.
\nNow, it’s still a wooden box, but it’s made of resonant wood with top and bottom decks made of solid maple wood.
\nThe surface is engraved with an intricate pattern, designed in the Solips workshop. Several coats of delicate lacquer give the instrument shine and durability.
\nAnd now it has 21 strings. We use high-quality strings from ErnieBall to bring out the subtlest nuances of sound.<\/p>\n
And for those who want more, there’s a piezo pickup built into the body. Connect it to an amplifier or speakers, and your sonic meditations become a concert performance. Add effects, apply reverbs, and experiment with improvisation – this monochord gives you limitless possibilities for sound exploration.<\/p>\n
But that’s not all! Our monochord is framed by a shiny metal frame under which LED lighting is hidden, turning your music-making into a magnificent light show. Along with the enchanting sounds of the strings, the space fills with soft atmospheric light, making the instrument look like a real magical artifact.<\/p>\n
The backlight uses a Type-C output to connect to both mains power and a Power Bank, so the instrument can easily accompany you anywhere, from the stage to the forest glade.<\/p>\n
The backlighting is customizable: you can choose from a solid-color glow or an iridescent effect with smooth transitions between colors. It is also possible to adjust the brightness level and the speed of color change.
\nWe install LED strips with addressable LEDs, allowing for 150 different static and dynamic modes. Control is via Bluetooth and a phone app. There are also sound response modes.<\/p>\n
There is nothing else like it in the world. This Monochord from Solips is an artifact you’ll never forget.
